Position: Stable Assistant

Hours: 

Full Time: 5 days a week, Monday-Friday, 8+ hours/day, 40+ hours/week, prefer a split shift

Part Time - Full Days: 2-3 days a week, Monday-Friday, 8+ hours/day, 20+ hours/ week, prefer a split shift

Part Time - Half Days: 5 days a week, Mon-Fri, 4-5 hours/ day, 20+ hours/ week, morning and afternoon shifts

*Please Note*: We are seeking long-term workers and are not currently hiring for summer work only.

Duties:

- Morning, afternoon (if required) and evening feed (hay and grain)

- Watering and cleaning of water and feed buckets, and outdoor waterers as needed

- Turn out/turn in

- Boots, bandaging, blanketing, fly mask and fly spray administration as needed

- Stall cleaning and bedding (up to 17 stalls)

- Sweeping

- Arena and wash stall maintenance (raking and regular cleaning)

- Distributing hay outside in the winter months

- Assisting veterinarians, farriers and other equine care practitioners as needed

- Some heavy lifting will be required (approx. 50 lbs hay bales and feed bags)

Compensation: 
   
Full-Time Contract work at $12.00/hour + 1 stall at reduced board (to be worked off) - Full time worker would be required to board a horse at our facility.

Part-Time Contract work at $12.00/hour + outdoor board for 1 horse (to be worked off) - Part time worker would not be required to board a horse at our facility.

Qualifications:
   

- Reliable!

- Solution-oriented

- Organized

- Outstanding communication skills with emphasis on providing a high level of professional customer service

- Previous equine experience required

- Experience with injuries and emergency conditions an asset

- Prefer someone with past experience in a similar role

- Own transportation required
